Microsoft Dynamics NAV News & Tips
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0 Mainstream Support is Expiring

In accordance with Microsoft’s support lifecycle policies, on January 12, 2010, mainstream support will end for Microsoft Dynamics NAV version 4.0, and all of its related service packs. This version was introduced in 2004 and has been superseded by subsequent releases, the most recent being Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009.

Customers who are current on a Microsoft Dynamics Enhancement plan can continue to access the following benefits through CustomerSource:

  • Previously released upgrades, updates, service packs, fixes, and regulatory/tax updates
  • Self-help support through Knowledgebase articles and online content
  • Online training
  • Access to various community groups

Customers on a current ICS Support Plan can continue to receive unlimited telephone support for the time being.

Please be advised that with the expiration of Microsoft’s Mainstream Support for Dynamics NAV 4.0, should a catastrophic situation occur, ICS Support no longer has access to immediate secondary support from Microsoft. This could severely limit our ability to fully support NAV 4.0 clients and their installations.

To determine what version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV you are currently running, click on “Help” in the open Dynamics NAV window menu, and select the “About …” option.

Over the next few months, we will be contacting our version 4.0 clients to discuss options and upgrade strategies, but please do not hesitate to contact Mike Packard (425-284-5426 or mikep@ics-support.com) if you have immediate concerns.

For more information related to Microsoft Support Lifecycle policies and associated product dates for all Microsoft Products, see their Support Lifecycle page.
