Filing Your Payroll Taxes...Electronically?

Would you like to be able to file your Payroll taxes electronically? Sage MAS 90 and 200 ERP Version 4.30 makes it easier than ever.

In MAS 90 and MAS 200 Version 4.20 and earlier you could:

• Print 1099s
• Print W2s (as long as the state conformed to the Federal MMREF-1 standards)
• File these electronically with the Electronic Reporting module (formally Magnetic Media)

In MAS 90 and MAS 200 Version 4.30:

• The original 1099 and W2 forms still exist
• The Electronic Reporting module is still available for the original 1099 and W2 forms. (Electronic Reporting will not work with the new eFiling reports)
• MAS 90 and 200 Tax eFiling and Reporting is an added feature
• A new fee based service “eFiling powered by Aatrix” is available for purchase

What is MAS 90 and 200 Tax eFiling and Reporting?

• Sage now supports State Reporting! This is a HUGE enhancement. If you choose to take advantage of MAS 90 and 200 Tax eFiling and Reporting you will not need to download the IRD updates. When you start the quarter/year end process MAS will automatically prompt them to install the latest IRS updates. If you use the original 1099s and W2s, the IRD will still be available for download.
• You can now save draft copies of these reports.
• The W2s are exported into an Excel file for easy data manipulation.
• The last enhancement gets misinterpreted: “Forms can be printed to blank paper.” It is not “blank” paper. Forms must be purchased from Sage's Forms Division because the back is full of legal writing. The front is blank so the forms do not have to be aligned when printing; but you cannot print to blank paper

What is the new fee based service “eFiling powered by Aatrix”?

• You decide how much of the eFiling process that you want to do, and you can pay Aatrix to do the rest. Depending on the Master Developer modifications, the Extended Solutions, and the Electronic Reporting module, it might be more effective to go with Aatrix - but this will have to be analyzed on a case by case basis.
• Aatrix also supplies an online portal where you can look at all your old filings, see if any changes have been made, check the status of your submissions, etc. This will be very helpful for CPAs because they can track all of their customers in one place.
• The service is activated from within MAS. You can sign up for the full service, or just pay to eFile a single report.
